Day Meets
The Grampian Club arranges monthly Day Meets on 10 months of the year, usually on the second or third weekend. Venues are carefully selected to provide walks of varying grades, from easier low level walks to challenging mountain traverses of up to 20 miles often taking in 2 or more Munros on the longer summer meets.

We travel by bus from Dundee, picking up in Perth when heading west. Members are expected to choose walks that are within their own physical capabilities and the Day Meets Team organise groups into parties of broadly similar ability.

Grampian Club Day Meets are organised based on members and guests walking in groups of up to 6 or 8. A coordinator for each group is selected in advance. On the day of the meet, the group coordinator will encourage all members to be involved with navigation and route choice. Depending on the skill level in the group, weather changes and timing issues, the coordinator can be required to change the route. The coordinator will have adequate skills and experience to be able to make such decisions, about keeping the group together, and arriving back at the coach safely on time.
In order for the Day Meet Secretary to place new guests in a group that is appropriate for their ability and experience it is important that they complete and submit a Guest Questionnaire at the time of their booking.

Local Day Meets
In addition to the monthly planned Day Meets, the Club now offer occasional Local Day Meets designed to avoid clashing with the planned Day and Weekend Meets, and will generally be quite local to Dundee/Perth and will be based on the members using their own car for transport. Details of these will be published in the Newsletter and on the website.
Grampian Club Ad Hoc Meets
A WhatsApp group titled Grampian Club Ad Hoc Meets has been created for members to communicate arrangements about ad hoc meets. Please join this group if you are interested in sharing details about walks you are doing and inviting other Grampian Club members to join you, OR if you are interested in joining ad hoc walks arranged by others in the group.
If you are arranging a walk and want to post it to the WhatsApp group, you will need to indicate the date, meeting venue and start time of the walk as well as the route or destination. Everyone taking part is responsible for their own safety and should have the skills and fitness for the route being suggested.
This WhatsApp group is for Grampian Club members only. Members can find the link for the WhatsApp group by visiting the Ad Hoc Meets page in the Member’s Dashboard area of this website after logging on. Please note that everyone in the WhatsApp group can see the phone numbers of other group members and by joining the WhatsApp group, you are agreeing to this. Group members should not share names and phone numbers outwith the WhatsApp group. The contact details will only be used to send messages regarding ad hoc meets. Members will be able to leave the group at anytime by removing yourself.
