The South West Coastal Path (with digressions)

A talk by Grampian Club member Norman Waugh

The Southwest Coastal Path runs for 630 miles from Minehead in Somerset to Poole in Dorset and provides a very varied set of landscapes with often dramatic scenery. There are sections which are quite rough and involve scrambling over boulders – for example the stretch from St Ives to Zennor. Other sections have easy paths along sandy beaches or through woodland.

Walking sections of the SW Path is made easy by the excellent local bus and train and ferry services. It’s easy to get public transport to the start of a section and then get a bus or train back to wherever you are staying.

This presentation will report on several sections of the SW Path, but will include accounts of other coastal paths in Pembrokeshire, Menorca and Gozo.

Norman has been a member of the Club since 1981 and we are very pleased he has offered to present this talk.
