Loch Ossian Hostel
Please note that this weekend is currently Fully Booked (waiting list only)
Weekend meets are normally based on three nights away, and offer a great variety of highland and island-based hill-activity, in some classic locations, with a choice of high and low-level walking, scrambling and climbing.
In addition to the outdoor activities, the meets offer a great opportunity to get to know other members in a convivial atmosphere. We use a variety of accommodation – club properties, other club’s huts, hostels, bunkhouses, and campsites, with the option of hotels or self-catering, where available.
You do not need to make a big commitment straight away as non-members are welcome to attend up to two of our Day or Weekend Meets as a guest before committing to join the Club.
This weekend meet will be based at the Loch Ossian Youth Hostel on the southern shore of Loch Ossian.
Loch Ossian Youth Hostel is only accessible by rail, bike or foot. Corrour railway station (Glasgow to Fort William line) is the highest mainline railway station in the UK and the hostel is a short, approximately 20 minute walk from the station along a well-made track. Sitting on the southern shore of Loch Ossian, this traditional but homely eco-hostel makes a perfect base for hillwalkers looking to explore the remote wilderness of Rannoch Moor.
