Mar Lodge Estate – Talk by David Frew, National Trust for Scotland

David Frew, Property Manager of Mar Lodge Estate, will give a rare insight into managing Britain’s largest National Nature Reserve – a wildlife wonderland in the heart of the Cairngorms.

David took up this post with the National Trust for Scotland in 2011. Prior to joining the Trust, David worked for Scottish Natural Heritage on the island of Rum, managing visitor services on the island, including the Grade A-listed Kinloch Castle. He was involved in the transfer of assets from SNH to the island community, and subsequently worked as the island’s development officer.

The Mar Lodge Estate is one of the most important areas for nature conservation in the British Isles and in 2017 it was awarded National Nature Reserve status – making it the largest NNR in the UK. David’s talk is likely to be both educational and enlightening.
