Ratagan Hostel, Kintail

Weekend Meets

Weekend meets are normally based on three nights away, and offer a great variety of highland and island-based hill-activity, in some classic locations, with a choice of high and low-level walking, scrambling and climbing.

In addition to the outdoor activities, the meets offer a great opportunity to get to know other members in a convivial atmosphere. We use a variety of accommodation – club properties, other club’s huts, hostels, bunkhouses, and campsites, with the option of hotels or self-catering, where available.

You do not need to make a big commitment straight away as non-members are welcome to attend up to two of our Day or Weekend Meets as a guest before committing to join the Club.

This weekend meet will be based at the wonderfully located Ratagan Youth Hostel on the southern shore of Loch Duich.

Ratagan Youth Hostel enjoys a stunning loch-side location and boasts an amazing view of the Five Sisters of Kintail mountain range from its sitting room. Low level scrambles and classic ridge walks are all within easy reach of the hostel and the garden is ideal for launching kayaks where you can take to the water to explore famous local landmarks such as Eilean Donan Castle.
